Lacey is a second year MPH student in the Community Health Sciences department at UCLA Fielding School of Public Health. She grew up in Rochester, New York and attended Niagara University for her undergraduate degree. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology in 2009 and eventually moved to New Orleans, where she taught kindergarten and special education for five years. While teaching, Lacey recognized that so many public health issues outside of the classroom were impacting her students, which prompted her move to Los Angeles in 2017 to pursue her MPH degree. She is interested in child and family health, social determinants of health, LGBTQ health, sexual and reproductive health, and the impacts of trauma on children’s health. Outside of academics, Lacey enjoys hiking, kayaking, running, rock climbing, yoga, and spending time with her fiancée, family, and friends.
