Jennifer is a second-year doctoral student at UCLA Fielding School of Public Health in the Department of Community Health Sciences. She grew up in Taos, NM, and was born in Los Angeles, CA. She earned a BA in Sociology from Stanford University in 2014, and an MPH from UCLA Fielding School of Health in Community Health Sciences in 2019. Her research interests include maternal and child health, oral health, demography, and examining health disparities among underserved communities. Jennifer previously interned at LA Country Department of Public Health with the Division of Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health, and was a Care Coordination Liaison at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford. Her frontline work and research experience inspire her to continue supporting families with limited health resources. Eventually, she plans to support research within her home community. As a first-generation college student, she aspires to serve as a mentor and resource for students, and cultivate positive learning experiences for others.
